Aloo Bhath-Indian Recipe

Ingredients

  • Basmati Rice 2 cups
  • Potato 3 to 4
  • Onion – 2 big size
  • Salt – according to taste
  • For vaghere
  • Ghee 2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  • For Masala:
  • Mint Leaves – 1 Bunch
  • Green chillies – 4 to 5
  • Garlic – 1-2 cloves
  • Ginger – a small piece
  • Grated coconut – 1/2 cup

How to Make Aloo Bhath

  • First, keep the rice to be cooked.
  • Chop potatoes into big chunks and the onion very finely.
  • Take a kadai and add ghee. When the ghee is hot, add cumin seeds in it.
  • Fry it for some time and the add turmeric powder to it.
  • Then add to it the onion pieces and fry it till it becomes transparent.
  • Add potatoes and salt and let it cook.
  • Cut green chillies, garlic, ginger and mint leaves. Add grated coconut to it and grind it.
  • Add this paste to the potato.
  • After potato and rice are cooked, add the potato gravy to the rice and mix it slowly.
  • Serve it when it is hot.
